Beijing Normal University "Forbidden City Scholarship" Application Method
The "Forbidden City Scholarship" is a scholarship established by the "One Belt One Road" National youth talent training base. To provide high-end Ph.D. programs for international students coming to China from the "One Belt One Road" countries. The application is limited to majors in Education, Economics, Philosophy, Art and communications, and Environmental management of water resources. The details of the application are as follows:
I. Scholarship Coverage and Duration
Scholarship coverage: tuition, accommodation, living expenses and comprehensive medical insurance.
A. Exemption from full tuition fees during the duration of study;
B. Provide living expenses during the duration of study: RMB 3,500/month
C. Provide accommodation allowance during the duration of study: RMB 1000/month
D. Provide comprehensive insurance;
E. The scholarship duration is equal to the duration of study. (If the awardee postpones his/her graduation, he/she will not be eligible for the scholarship during the extended period of studies. If the awardee suspends his/her study or leaves the school, his/her scholarship will be terminated)
II. Eligibility Requirements
A. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with good health, and maintain an amicable attitude towards China
B. Applicants must come from the "One Belt and One Road" countries;
C. The applicant should have good conduct and outstanding results and meet the following conditions:
Excellent Master's degree, strong academic background, scientific research and innovation ability.
Applicants must be international students who have been admitted to our school and will begin to study for Ph.D.
The applicant did not receive any other type of scholarship and did not receive any government, department or organization funding support.
III. Application Materials
B. Other materials such as academic transcripts, award certificates, published articles or academic results (if you have any, please submit); if this material has already been submitted at the time of application, there is no need to submit again.
Note: The application materials will not be returned.
IV. Application Deadline
May 30. (if sent by post, the postmark date will be considered).
V. Annual Review
PhD students who have obtained the "Beijing Normal University Forbidden City Scholarship" must participate in the annual comprehensive evaluation of the scholarship in May each year, to determine whether they can continue to receive the scholarship. If students fail the annual review, the scholarship will be suspended for one year, however, they will be allowed to participate in the annual review the next year. If they are able to pass, they can once more receive the scholarship and attend the next annual review; if they fail, the scholarship will be terminated.
