2016 China-US Tourism Year—American Visitors’ Visit to the Great Wall

2016 is the China-US Tourism Year. On March 25, 2016, the China National Tourism Administration will hold the “Opening Ceremony—American Visitors’ Visit to the Great Wall”, inviting thousand American visitors to visit the Jinshanling Great Wall (金山岭长城) and enjoy the Chinese traditional performances.

10:00	Arrive at the Jinshanling Great Wall
10:00-10:30	Walk to the ceremony spot (1200 meters)
10:30—11:00	Opening Ceremony
11:00—13:00	Climb the Great Wall
15:00	Back to Beijing
17:00	Welcome Dinner
19:30	Back to the urban district

Students whose nationality is United States may come to the International Students Office to sign up, with valid passport.

Jinshanling. Great Wall

As a man made wonder of human civilization, the Great Wall has a strong appeal to the American people. Former US President Nixon’s trip on the Great Wall lifted the curtain for the American people to explore the oriental civilization. The Great Wall at Jinshanling, a two-hour drive from downtown Beijing, is one of the best preserved sections of the Great Wall. It is well known for its elegant architectural style, dense guard towers, broad field of vision and unique landscape.
