2026-2027 Beijing Government Scholarship Application For Current International Students

In order to encourage and support excellent current international students, Beijing government establishes the “Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students”. BNU Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students Assessment Committee is responsible for the assessment and award along with the administration of the project.

Application details for the academic year 2026~2027 are as follows:

I. Scholarship Grade, Standard & Award Method

Scholarships of Category B and Category C will be awarded separately, based on the level of study and subject category.

The scope of the Category B scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation fees, and comprehensive medical insurance premiums for one academic year.

The scope of the Category C scholarship covers tuition fees for one academic year and comprehensive medical insurance premiums.

Note: During the scholarship period, awarded students who suspend and quit from school will be cancelled of the scholarship.

II. Selection Regulations

Applicants’ examination results (refer to valid results with average credit score) from 2025.2 — 2026.1 (students admitted in 2025 should provide examination results from 2025.9 — 2026.1), academic achievements (undersigned as Beijing Normal University), and overall quality. III. Selection Procedure

Application by students -> Preliminary evaluation and recommendation by Faculty / School / College / Department-> Announcement of evaluation result ->Evaluation by BNU Assessment Committee Official -> announcement of winners

IV. Applicant Qualifications

Students who are studying for degrees (undergraduates, masters, and PhD students) at Beijing Normal University that meet the following requirements can apply:

1.Abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China and the rules of Beijing Normal University, study hard, be positive, be upright, respect teachers, and be friendly to China;

2. Undergraduate applicants are required to study under the scheme of the professional teaching plan with excellent scores, must not be absent from any exam, and must pass all courses.

Academic Performance and Scholarly Achievement: Excellent academic performance with outstanding professional scholarly accomplishments. Category B and Category C scholarships. The average GPA must be no lower than 80 points.

3. Learning Attitude: Attend classes on time, maintain an attendance rate of 90% or higher, demonstrate diligence and a strong eagerness to learn, and receive a teacher’s or advisor’s evaluation of “Good” or better.

4. Actively participate in various school activities, be enthusiastic about social services, and contribute to the country, society, and the school;

5. Age requirements: Applicants for undergraduate programs should be no older than 25 years old at the time of enrollment; applicants for master's programs should be no older than 35 years old at the time of enrollment; and applicants for doctoral programs should be no older than 40 years old at the time of enrollment.

Students who fall under the following conditions cannot apply for this award:

1. Current degree students who will receive scholarships and academic support from any government organization or individual from September 2026 to July 2027.

2. Students who plan to suspend their studies school from September 2026 to July 2027.

V. Application Time

Submit all application materials to your school / faculty/ college/ department during working hours before April 22, 2026. 

VI. Application Materials

1.“Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students Application Form” 

Note: Applicants must complete the “Students Basic Information”, “Personal Statement”, etc.

2. “Information on Publications”. (this form shall be filled if there is any publications) 

Other related supporting materials: such as, certificate of award, academic achievements or publications (please provide the photocopy of the cover, the table of contents, and the front page of the publication, and fill in the Form of Information on Publications).

Note: The awards achieved and publications must be between February 2025 and January 2026 with Beijing Normal University undersigned.

3. Master’s and doctoral applicants must submit letters of recommendation from two associate professors at their respective schools (in Chinese or English).

V. Announcement of Award

The final review results shall be subject to the notification from the Beijing Municipal Government.（The English version is for reference. In case of inconsistency between the English and Chinese versions, the Chinese version shall prevail）
